The artist:

Wolkje is a ceramic artist and illustrator originally from Taipei, Taiwan. She has been living in Lisbon, Portugal for the past six years. Her artistic practice blends two distinct but complementary languages: illustration and ceramics. For Wolkje, drawing feels like speaking. It functions as a visual diary—personal, reflective, and intimate. In contrast, ceramics serve as her way of reaching out and communicating with others. She uses clay to share stories, emotions, and messages that extend beyond her own experience. When she creates ceramic pieces, she often begins with a central idea rooted in love or emotional needs. These themes inspire dreamlike objects that invite comfort, rest, and imagination. For instance, her pieces may evoke soft beds, gentle grass, or warm sand—safe spaces where people can escape daily pressures. Through this work, she offers viewers a moment of relief and emotional connection. Ultimately, Wolkje wants everyone to feel seen, valued, and embraced. She believes that a gentle, imaginative space is something all people deserve—and this belief forms the heart of her ceramic art.
