Printing technique:
Risography is a unique printing technique that combines elements of screen printing (serigraphy) and photocopying. It was originally developed in Japan in the 1980s as a cost-effective method for producing high-volume prints, but it has since gained popularity in the art and design world for its distinctive aesthetic. This technique is widely used for creating zines, posters, art prints, and limited edition books, offering a distinctive, textured aesthetic that stands out from standard digital printing.

The artist:

Vital Lordelo is a Brazilian visual artist born in 1984. He has been actively creating art since 2007. His work spans multiple mediums, including drawing, painting, silkscreen printing, and woodcut. In 2012, he gained recognition through a street art project that used poster art to express emotional and symbolic themes. Since then, his artwork has continued to explore connections between life, emotion, and urban environments. Lordelo often features recurring motifs such as hearts and life symbols. These appear in public spaces, encouraging quiet reflection and emotional dialogue among viewers. Through this approach, he invites people to pause, connect, and feel.
